Here is a collection of a few images of the historic Allan truss lift bridge of Swan Hill, which is one of the only two situated along the Murray River. Designed by Percy Allan of Sydney and built by Victorian company Farquharson in 1896, the bridge demonstrated a sophisticated design in form of the Allan trusses and the ability to lift part of the bridge to allow watercraft to pass below. The second operational example on the river is located around 40 kilometers downstream at Tooleybuc.
